A47 Postwick interchange to Acle roundabout: survey works
Please note that the advertised scope of these works has now changed. Both tonight and tomorrow night (Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 February), the A47 between Postwick interchange and Acle roundabout will have a full eastbound road closure in place. This closure will then change to a full westbound closure on Thursday 8 and Friday 9 February. Our working hours will remain as 8pm to 6am, and the agreed diversion route shown in the email below remains in place
I write to inform you that Kier will be undertaking survey works at the above location on behalf of Highways England. These surveys will allow us to investigate potential issues, and programme any future works necessary to maintain the existing infrastructure.
We plan to complete this work over five nights, from Monday 5 February, with working hours of 8pm until 6am, weather permitting.
Work will start with a full closure of the westbound carriageway, from Monday 5 February, lasting three nights. Work will then switch to the other side of the road, from Thursday 8 February, with a full closure of the eastbound carriageway, lasting two nights
Leave the A47 at Postwick interchange; take the A1042, B1140 towards South Walsham, Panxworth Road, continue through Acle Road, South Walsham Road and Bridewell Lane, take Old Road, then the A1064 towards the A47.
Leave the A47 at Acle roundabout; take the A1604, Old Road, Bridewell Lane, continue through South Walsham Road, Acle Road and Panxworth Road, take the B1140 towards Norwich, before taking the A1604 and re-joining the A47 at Postwick interchange.
Local traffic joining the A47 between Postwick interchange and Acle roundabout will be directed towards Burlingham Green. Traffic will then take South Walsham Road to join the agreed diversion route. Motorists can then use the B1140 to drive towards Norwich or Acle and re-join the A47.

We have carefully planned these works to take place during weekday off peak hours, when traffic flows are at their lightest. We apologise for the local inconvenience these works may cause and thank you for your patience whilst we carry out strategic maintenance to the road network. We would be grateful if you would share information locally about the works.
