Community First Responders in Blofield, Brundall, Lingwood and Strumpshaw

With health services coming under mounting pressure, the work of the local Community First Responders is going to become increasingly important – and more volunteers would be warmly welcomed, especially in the Lingwood area.  Full training is offered by the Ambulance Service and all equipment is provided – we now just need YOU!

This table gives an indication of the work local volunteers have offered this year:

Average number of First Responders in the Blofield / Brundall/Lingwood/Strumpshaw area

Number of hours offered between January and September 2017

Number of visits made to patients at the request of the Ambulance Service

2,394 hours

119 visits

Although not all attendances are for life-threatening conditions, patients and families have said how reassuring it is to have someone local arrive promptly. First Responders take information that is of help to the Ambulance Service, collect the patient’s medication record and can offer some practical treatment.  This is a very worthwhile service to the people in our local community.  If you would like to learn more, please contact the local co-ordinator on (01603) 713 583.
